I have a Windows Server 2003 that I'm using for remote desktop that is being used for viewing/updating a powerpoint 2007 presentation.  This presentation has links to several excel files...  all links are set to update manually... however when opening the presentation on the server, I get the hourglass blinking and looking in task manager can see that excel is opening and closing several times to update the links.... cfo is getting very frustrated that it takes so long for the file to open, and I don't get this behavior when running the presentation from any of our xp/win7 desktops...

Not sure if this is just a bug in running ppt on a server?

any help will be greatly appreciated.
