asked on

send mail to a remote SMTP without setting up local SMTP server.

How can I send a mail from 'mail'  or mutt or mailx or other linux console's email client to send all mails to a remote smarthost SMTP server without seting up postfix or sendmail on the sender server?

Hi,

Regarding this link.. how shopuld I setup mailrc if the smarthost is using another port instead tcp/25?

set smtp=server.domain:port

??

Also, how should I setup nail to start a TLS session with teh remote server?
