I am using Dreamweaver CS3

In one site I have some pages on my local machine which suddenly fail to open

I am now getting an error instead of the page opening.
It is
Visual Studio Just in time debugger
An unhandled win32 exception occoured in Dreamweaver.exe
When I answer Do you wish to debug using the selected debugger Dreamweaver closes.

Has anyone any ideas how I can prevent this from happening please?
Many thanks
John

Hi John,

What language are the pages in?

Can you open a different type of file in the same site or does DW crash on everything?

Hi Jason
Thanks for your response.
The site (s) are .asp
I have now tried to open various pages on various sites and most seem affected.
A site I was working on just two days ago will now not open.
I am attaching an image which shows the problem.
I wonder in I should unistall Visual Studio?

Can't hurt :)

My usual progression for these things are:

1) Delete WinFileCache, reopen DW and test.  If still a problem:
2) Disable all extensions, reopen DW and test.  If still a problem:
3) Reinstall DW without uninstalling current install, reopen DW and test.  If still a problem:
4) Uninstall DW, reinstall, reopen DW and test.  If still a problem:
5) Uninstall and use CS3Clean script to really remove it, reopen DW and test.

Not sure why Visual Studio would kill CS3 all of a sudden unless it patched recently.  If you are comfortable uninstalling it, then go for it.

Thanks for a perfect answer Jason, item 2 was the answer.
I am sure I accepted this answer previously but just noted it was still outstanding.
Many thanks once again
