Normally I login to facebook with my email address and a facebook password.  But when I put those into facebook mail it's no-go.  Facebook mail starts minus one for not making clear before announcing this.

Have you been invited or upgraded to the new Messages platform? How are you accessing Facebook mail?  I am assuming you are going to mail.facebook.com which isn't correct.  It will eventually integrate into your own facebook environment.

You willy be able to "claim" a @facebook.com address when this is active for your account.

Thanks.  Yep - I was expecting it to be as simple common sense as gmail and have a URL mail.facebook.com.
