I would like to cut a small rectangle out of several flat objects in 3DS Max Studio.
1. See picture
2. I tried boolean, but it did not cut it. I'm probably doing something wrong.
3. The circles are flat - same layer
4. the rectangle is not flat

Boolean needs a volume to work. So Extrude your circles (can be very little), just to give some volume information. Booleans doesn't work on planes.

Thanks for hte quick reply.
I extruded it and it still did not work, but once I converted it to a poly + extruding it worked.
I also had to use boolean pro (straight boolean did not do it)

Jay
