Can I consume a WCF web service from Java where the web service includes a callback function (CallbackContract parameter in the ServiceContract attribute)?
This will actually create an asynchronous connection between the WCF server and the Java client.

No, it is not possible.
Callback is only available to .net clients only.

So is there any other way to have asynchronous communication between a .net server using WCF and a Java client? Thanks!

In answering your related question search for "wcf basichttpbinding", I assume you can change your .NET server.
