Did you install the Web Service Edition update for Entourage 2008. This doesn't require additional license

This update was built in order to handle the connection of Engourage 2008 with Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2010. I had lot of problems with entourage until I updated to the Web Service Eddition and the last service pack for Office 2008 for Mac

when I try to install I'm getting this

You cannot install Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition on this volume. A version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume.

To learn how to fix this issue, see "I can't install Office 2008 for Mac updates" at http://www.microsoft.com/mac/help.mspx

Ok, it could be that you have the RTM version of Office 2008 for MAC, the Web Service Eddition needs an updated office before been installed. Office for mac already has the SP2 and there is even an update after SP2

Try to install the SP for Office for MAC

Note: (Just in case)
************************************************

Some times It happens with the updates that they ask for pre-requirements. And it is for many reasons, and it is documented in the knowledge bases websites. In few words here some reasons:
- there was a component of office that was updated and the other one not, (For example, World in a version and Entourage in another one, but the update needs that all of them be at the same level)
- files in another containners or modified original files,
- etc, etc, etc.

There are many ways to resolve this problem with dependencies but they are usually with rude steps, but I noticed that it was easier to install a lower SP and them the last one, for example:

If the system doesn't allow me to install the last update of office 2008
Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac Service Pack 2 (12.2.0) w/ the 12.2.7 update

Them I just installed the previous SP (Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac Service Pack 1 -12.1.0)
...and them I made the install of the last SP

Try this and let us know
