Help!! I upgraded asdm-508.bin to asdm-631.bin and now cannot get in to the device. Using the asdm launcher this error populates: "The device x.x.x.x does not have the appropriate device manager image installed". I can however, use putty to access the device. How can I gain access to the asdm via web browser??? Have I tanked the asdm?

You will probably also need to upgrade the image as well. It is likely the version you are on doesn't support asdm 6.31. This usually requires ASA version 8 or above.

In order to get ASDM back, roll back to the old image. To do this, reload the ASA if you didn't save the config, or get to the command line and enter:-

conf t
asdm image flash:asdm-508.bin

I wouldn't upgrade the image unless you know what you are doing as there are a number of considerations when upgrading to later versions of 8.
