We are trying various Disastor Recovery scenarios with our TFS 2010 test environments.

1.Setup is consist of TFS2010, SQL2008 with Reporting Services and SharePoint2010.

2.For Backup and Restore we are using TFS 2010 Power Tool.

3.When we try to restore the backup on same hardware, everything works fine and TFS setup is fully functional.

4.However when we try to restore it on different hardware, we are able to restore database suucessfully but only Application Tier configuration gives error.

5.On new hardware we first installed SQL2008, then SharePoint2010(installation and Configuration), then we drop all the Databases and Restore the back up taken from other setup. We did it by using Power Tool (from different server by modifying configuration xml file).

6.Now when we try to configure app tier only from TFS Wizard it fails.

Could any one please guide us with the clear step by step Backup and Restore procedure by using Power Tool. The method mentioned in MSDN appears to be very lengthy one and unclear.

Thanks upfront
