Outlook replies are underlined

I have a user that when people reply to his Outlook 07 emails the text is underlined.  I've checked the statonary/fonts options and there are no settings enabled to cause this.  its the reply section of the outlook form that has the underline enabled.  if you go down to his original text there is no underlining.  And there are no themes enabled.  thanks.

Have you tried creating a new profile to see if it's a profile issue?  Haven't seen this before but anytime I have weird behavior in Outlook I'll create a new profile on the same machine if possible and a new profile on a different machine is possible to determine if it's a client issue or a system issue.  I'll dig around and see If I can find anything on this.

I blew away profile and created new one and it did not fix. weird.

what else is weird is its only when you reply to him. if he replies to your reply that originally came from him it doesn't do it. and he can reply to his own email and it won't do it.

What does the email look like for the person that replies to him?  I mean if you reply to his email and go to your sent items is the email underlined?

yes. the text is underlined. it is underlined as you type in the reply.  you can select the font in the reply and de-select 'underline'.

I believe the issue is not on the user's outlook is on the other user who is replaying

Does it matter if it's Rich Text or Plain Text emails?

affects ALL users that reply. only affects HTML. not plain text.

I discovered the way to fix is to delete the normalemail.dotm template. located here:
C:\Users\*user*\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates
this resets the email template.
