How To Import GAE Project Into Eclipse?

I have a very specific difficulty. I have the Demo projects for Google's AppEngine. These are not Eclipse projects (i.e. minus .project & .classpath files). I am trying to find a way to get Eclipse to load these projects so that I can run them and step thru them. The AppEngine plugin provides no functionality for Import -> * -> Existing Web Application Project. (Naturally, I already have the AppEngine Eclipse plugin installed.) Has anyone tackled this problem yet?

you cannot import them directly. you'll need to create a new project and copy the files into the relevant locationas

I double checked this. Unfortunately, you are correct. Eclipse does does not support this. It seems like such a glaring omission.
