SQL Server for Japanese localization project

Hi,

I have a requirement for a Japanese version of our software. I have installed SQL Server with collation to Japanese, however when I attempt to add Japanese characters directly into the database they appear as ??

Am I missing something from install ?  windows 2003 Server, SQL Server 2008 with Japanese collation.

Start -> Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options, Languages Tab. Check appropriate checkbox, and you will be prompted for windows installation files

I installed the language pack but when I tried to add japanese characters into the database. They came out as ????

Do I need a special langauge pack for SQL Server 2005?
