The documentation was pretty cut and dry saying you cannot change the name however, their must be a way to change the name the not so easy way.

We are using SCOM 2007 R2

Not so easy way?
When I approached this, the only solution I found was to uninstall the clients from all the computers, uninstall SCOM from my server, and reinstall everything.
