Friends,

I have a question which is simple to answer for powershell gurus.

Lets say, I have a message with subjet "Salary Scale" and by mistake it was sent to a wrong DL.
Fine, to delete the message from mailbox of users within the DL I will use Export-Mailbox cmd-let along with -DeleteContent. Also I can remove the email from these mailboxes and put it in a different mailbox so that I can review, lets say I put it in "backupMB" account.

Now What if I want to put this email back to the users Inbox in DL.?
Can it be done? if yes Please do post the method.

Thanks for your time guys.

Hi,

I'm not aware of a method to simply rollback Export-Mailbox with delete content.

However, here are some suggestions:
1) Resend the message in question to the DL. This is technically speaking probably the easiest solution. Unfortunately, there are times when problems aren't purely technical :).
2) Export the message in question to the pst file and then use the Import-Mailbox cmdlet to import the message to DL mailboxes from pst. Short and useful description on how to do this can be found here.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Tomislav
