Hello,

when you copy from a PDF to a Word document, parts of the formatting will be copied over, depending on how Word can interpret the settings. Remember that the source of the PDF may not have been Word, and that it may not be possible to achieve the same formatting in a Word document. To achieve the exact same formatting of the content in Word, you will probably need commercially available converter tools.

You could also try to contact the original author of the PDF file and ask them for a copy of the file in Word format. If your purpose is legit, then that should not be a problem.

cheers, teylyn
