Under "VLAN Management"/"Port Setting"

Go to the port that you want to be a trunk and in the "Acceptable Frame Type" column, select "Tagged".

Hi
Have done this on both swtches and still nothing but have just had the most annoying thought, i made my cables using cat5e cable and rj45 plugs my cable from my wireless router works ok as i have internet connection on my computor through my slm2008 switch. so if i wasnt careful when i made my plugs on the other cable i guess thiss could be the problem?

thanks andy

Since these switches support Auto-MDI, it doesn't matter if you use a straight through of crossover cable between the switches. So I would confirm that your cable is good before going any further.

Do the LED's on the port that the cable is connected to light up?

IT, Stop Being Called Into Every Meeting

Highfive is so simple that setting up every meeting room takes just minutes and every employee will be able to start or join a call from any room with ease. Never be called into a meeting just to get it started again. This is how video conferencing should work!

Hi

Sucess!!! it was indeed my shoddy workmanship on the rj45 connectors. Now in order to pass my hdmi through both switches I will

1.Creat Vlans on switch 1
2.Assign relevent ports to Vlans on switch 1
3.Creat Vlans on switch 2 to match switch 1
4.Assign relevent ports to Vlans on switch 2

This should let me pass through my hdmi through both switches ?

What do you think?

Thanks
Andy
