It depends, you can change the ip address of the switch when you are logged into the web interface so it is on your network so you can then browse to it directly e.g. if your network is 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254 and the switch is configured as 192.168.1.1

I have bought a DLink DGS 1210-24 port switch.i have attached my laptop to this switch to config but i cannot access the admin panel with default ip mentioned in the manual 10.90.90.90. why is that so. do i have to setup ip on my laptop too static ip
