ASP.NET - Telerik RadGrid get selected row ID on client

I'm working with the Telerik RadGrid control.  AllowMultiRowSelection is set to true.  I've got a javascript method that is run when a client side event is fired and in this method I need to retrieve the row id for each of the selected rows in the radgrid.  The Telerik documentation seems less than helpful.

Is anyone familiar with Telerik enough to help me through this issue?

Thanks,

get_selectedItems()

Controls > RadGrid > Client-side API Reference > RadGrid > Properties > get_selectedItems()

Property which returns an array of the grid rows selected on the client (and all sub levels in hierarchical grid structure).

function getGridSelectedItems()
{
  var grid= $find("<%= RadGrid1.ClientID %>")
  var gridSelectedItems = grid.get_selectedItems();
}
