Only Full Control permissioned people can view this webpart, others with contribute cannot see this webpart and get an error

"Unable to display this webpart.  To troubleshoot this problem, open this
webpage in a windows Sharepoint services compatable HTML editor such as
Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer.  If the problem persist, contact your
webserver administrator."

I deleted the webpart and I recreated another summary link web part and I am having the same troubles.
The permissions look fine.
Whats going on?

This will NOT help you, but you need to be aware of M$'s insidious thinking -- their "permssions" on a web page is linked to the "permissions" that a user has on the system, or the network.  This of course is TOTAL NONSENSE -- the ability to access WEB data should have NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with the local computer or network permissions.  It is ILLOGICAL -- the web is global, it is not like a network.

But you can' tell M$ that.  This is why I tell people to dump sharepoint.  It is an ILLOGICAL mix of the web and the local network and user permissions on computers -- it is just nonsense.

Now there is probably a way you can fix this M$ debacle in the sharepoint setup, but most users can't find how to do that.  So I suggest they dump sharepoint for a real, sensible web development platform.
