SBS 2008 Domain profiles cant login away from domain

Hey Guys,

I've recently setup a SBS 2008 server, but when the users login away from the domain it shows an error ' There are no login server to service your request'

With Domain profiles i understand that it looks for DNS for authentication. But when laptops are away from the network and not connected to anything they are suppose to login with cached authentication.

HOpe you guys can help!

Just to confirm; The user has successfully logged onto the laptop while connected to the domain once to first create the cached credentials?

There are some group policies that can force logon to the domain and disallow cached credentials. These are not set by default, but might someone have done so to tighten security? These can be server/domain applied or on the local PC's Group Policy. The location varies slightly depending on the O/S
First one if set to 0 disabled Cached credentials
Computer configuration | Windows settings | Security Settings | Security Options | Interactive logons: Number of previous logons to cache (in case domain controller is not available)
This disables cached credentials regardless of number of attempts
Computer configuration | Windows settings | Security Settings | Security Options | Interactive logons: Require Domain controller authentication to unlock work station
