Hello,

I am using the WAIK and the USMT 4.0 to deploy Windows 7 on 700 Workstations. The OS and the apps install and all is good except for the user data. User data is not being migrated. The task sequence for some reason is not capturing the user data.
Here is the customesettings.ini

[Settings]
Priority=Default
Properties=MyCustomProperty

[Default]
OSInstall=YES
SkipAdminPassword=YES
SkipApplications=YES
SkipAppsOnUpgrade=YES
SkipBDDWelcome=YES
SkipBitLocker=YES
SkipCapture=NO
SkipComputerName=YES
SkipComputerBackup=YES
SkipDeploymentType=NO
DeploymentType=NEWCOMPUTER
SkipDomainMembership=YES
SkipFinalSummary=NO
SkipLocaleSelection=YES
KeyboardLocale=en-US
UserLocale=en-US
UILanguage=en-US
SkipPackageDisplay=NO
SkipProductKey=YES
SkipSummary=YES

ScanStateArgs=/v:5 /o /c
LoadStateArgs=/v:5 /c /lac
UserDataLocation=NETWORK
UDDShare=\\serverpath\MigData$
UDDir=%ComputerName%

USMTMigFiles1=MigApp.xml
USMTMigFiles2=MigUser.xml

SkipTaskSequence=NO
SkipTimeZone=YES
TimeZoneName=Mountain Standard Time
SkipUserData=NO
TaskSequenceID=Win7Alpha

what do i have to do for the USMT to kick off a task sequence that will put user data on the server, reimage the workstation and once done put back the user data on the machine.

Help please,

It is hard to give an exact answer without being at your location to witness the issue and learn exactly how your system is setup. I would start with this guide from Microsoft and double check all of your settings.

Best of luck,

Unable to migrate the data using the mdt tool. I used instead usmt from Microsoft to accomplish this.
