NexStar Dual Drive USB 2.0 won't show up for me to do external backups.  Using Win XP Pro (daughter's computer, not mine.)

I've tried everything.  There don't seem to be any drivers for Vantec NexStar dual drive dock, for which I have a 500GB Seagate drive installed.  It's plugged in properly, actually "installs" it, but it won't show up in My Computer so I can start transferring files to it.  I've tried numerous things, to no avail.  Help!!

Does it show up in Computer Management?  See http://www.theeldergeek.com/disk_management.htm

You said you've put a 500 Gb drive in it but is this formatted or not?

You win, dbrunton!  LOL.  Actually, I just figured it out, just finished doing it.  You are correct, I had to go into Computer Management, then Disk Management, and then I partitioned the drive, and formatted it.  Thanks!!
