Hello

Setup
:RV042  with a DSL connection
no internal server for passthru vpn
a network drive is what we are trying to access internally

I am attempting to setup VPN access for a couple Macs an XP and Win 7 machine to access the local network drive.
* using the mac and windows vpn connection software.
I would rather not use quickvpn or have to purchase Version tracker for mac.

I was able to setup PPTP vpn for both platform  to the gateway.

but the problem  is setting up  L2TP over ipsec to the gateway using a pre-shared key.

is it possible  to set this up using the OS's connection software?

or am I screwed and have to buy vpn connection software.

Thank you

I think you need to use IPsec with the RV042. I don't see any other option in my own RV042. I prefer IPsec in any event.  .... Thinkpads_User
