How to setup Mailbox Autoreply for all incomming email on exchange 2010 Sp1

We are intending to migrate to an Exchange 2010 environment from a Lotus Domino environment.

We currently have a Lotus Domino mailbox "Jobs@company.com" that sends auto responses when people send their resumes to the mailbox.  eg: " Auto response : Thank you for submitting your resume to Company, .... "this has been working a treat for years.

Our new environment consists of an Exchange 2010 Sp1 MB server  and a CAS/HUB server.
I need to setup the mailbox jobs@compnay.com  to send a auto reply email to all potential candidates on the new environment.

The auto response rule will need to be a server based rule as the mailbox will be indirectly opened.

I have tried setting up "Trasport rules" but they don't have the same options available as Outlook 2010.
and Out of office or auto reply option is not suitable as this only sends a mail once to the recipient.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Hi,

What you need to do is create a template for the reply that you want. Once you have done this, create a new rule as follows:

Step 1: Select Condition " Where my name is in to To or CC box" (you can also select other conditions that may apply to you.

Step 2: reply using a specific template
and select the template that you have just created.

Step 3: select exceptions if you have any

Step 4: Click on Finish and turn on the rule.

This should work for you as is working for me.

Cheers.
Shahid.

Shahid,

Thanks for your input,
The client side rules work well and i will use these as fall back option but i require a server side rule " a rule that or process that runs on the server" while the mailbox is closed.

It seems that the transport rules available on the exchange environment are fairly limited with what they can do.

Shahid,

Thanks for you input again.

Yeah seen both of them, the first one is a client side rule, and the second article touches the "Transport rules" (server based rules).

With all my research and testing in our environment I have yet to find a server based rule that allows an auto reply usign a template i have only found "client side rules" (on outlook 2007/2010).

not the solution that i was looking for.
Sorry buddy. I guess you will have to either downgrade or buy that tool. I checked with my team and they have created custom client tools, a workaround as you suggested earlier.

This was the only option i had. The solution was not the best but had to do as there was no other option
