Exhange 2010 Invite Public Folder to Private Calendar meeting

Have set up a test mail-enabled PF with author permissions for the mail account used to crrate the private calendar meeting request. The configuration seems OK as this eventually works - the private calendar meeting appears in the PF calendar, but ONLY if the tick box for the PF calendar in Outlook favorites is removed and re-added (guess this refreshes the Outlook PF view) - only then does the meeting appear in the PF calendar, or if OL client is closed/reopened.  I have increased ther logging for IS-Public, but it looks like the problem is not here, or the process uses a different mechanism. If I do the reverse 0 create PF entry and invite private calendar it appears instantaneously. From the above, it can be deduced that the PF calendar is correctly mail-enabled, can be e-mailed, has correct permissions.
It looks like the problem is that the OL client isNOT auto-refreshing the PFs view ??

Anyone had/resolved this issue and/or can explain the method this process uses to update the PF calendar with the new e-mailed meeting request, and/or that used to then update the OL client PF view to display this request ?

In the client, under favorites, the two calendars are side0by side when the tick boxes are checked for both (one in personal calendars, the other in "other peoples' calendars".

Thanks

I think I have figured out what is going on but just need to know if I am right. I am doing some more testing in next few days to confirm my theory but may revisit this if still getting nowhere !!
