wordpress, order edit page post list by status?

I have a lot of posts that are imported in as drafts, then I go through and edit and publish.

Does anyone know how I could get the list of posts on the wp-admin/edit.php page to be ordered by status, with all the drafts being displayed first?

Right now, they are ordered by date. So I end up with a mix of published and drafts showing, it would be easier if all the drafts were at the top.

I do realize I can click on the 'drafts' link and it will show just drafts, but as soon as I publish one, it brings me back to the regular edit.php page with them mixed, so I have to go through that extra step of clicking on drafts each time. Would be much more efficient if I could just order by status on the edit page.

Thanks for any help :)  Chris

This might not be the ideal solution, but does work.

I added this just after require_once('./admin.php');
in wp-admin/edit.php

if (!isset($_GET['post_status'])) {
	$post_status = 'draft';
}

Open in new window

Being that's editing a core wordpress file, you'd have to redo that on each upgrade.
