Exchange 2007 SP2 upgrade Domain & AD Prep

We have a parent domein and two Child domains. The Exchagne servers are in the Parent domein. For SP2 upgrade the Schema needs to be updaated.  When running the Schema and AD prep will the parent and child domains be updated or do these need to be run on a DC in the Child domains as well?

schema is run only on the forest.. on the schema master.. only once and updates all forest.

ad and domain prep needs to be done on each parent and child domains.
