unable to read local event log SQL server agent

expert,
I got error from event viewer for below message. the windows server is 2003 with SQL sever 2000.
SQL server agent unable to read local eventlog (reason: The event log file has changed between read operations). I created on MMC first, then I saw this error. any idear to fix it?

Could you restart SQL Server Agent if it is not impactiong any production activities/jobs?
