Can I use a parallels image along with Acronis universal restore to restore the parallels image to a bare metal machine

I have a user who thought they liked the sound of having a VM using parallels. This user has a TON of custom software that would probably take me 3 days to reinstall on a fresh box. So just curious if I would be able to take an acronis image of the virtual pc and then restore it to a bare metal box? so a v2p i guess?

I haven't tried it but the potential is there certainly.  As long as you are running acronis from within your server it should appear real to acronis and enable you to create your image.

Certainly looks the goods.   I would try it without the restore option first depending how different your boot drivers are from the bare-metal requirements.  Notice that they say (if required) you will be prompted for device changes.  I suspect that if your bare-metal has a similiar set of hardware interfaces you will not notice any change.

It worked with quite a bit of fiddling, but it did work.
