SharePoint QueryString and text Filter

experts

is it possible to have a querystring filter and a text filter working on the same page and filtering the same list?

here's what I'm trying to do:
- i have a list that I'm filtering on a page with the text filter
- i want to give users the ability to fitler using querystring also. they'll basically click on a link from somewhere else in my site, which will direct them to my page with the filters and automatically filter it for them using the parameter passed.

is this possible? and what's the easiest way if so.

Thanks in advance,

I suspect you'll find that web parts accept only one connection, so you won't be able to connect both.

Beyond that it's the dreaded custom development scenario.

this can be done out of the box:
on one page put the following:
-task filter
-query string filter
-Task list

connect the task filter to the task list.
set the "get default value from" under connections of the task filter to "Query String (URL) Filter"

works a charm.

Thanks for your help.
