iPad Google search

Hi, I just bought an iPad and am very disappointed because I wanted to look for Foreclosures on it the same way I do on my laptop but apparently Google uses a different application for the iPad.

Here is what is going on.  On my laptop, I pull up Google, select Maps, put an address in the search box and it shows the location in a small map on the right and on the left, it asks if I want to search nearby.  I select that and type "Foreclosures" in the box and all the foreclosed properties in the area show up on the map and there is a description for each on the left.

When I try to do this on the iPod, I don't get the "Search Nearby" box.  Is there a workaround for this problem?
Thanks

Yes. You can plug the iPad into your computer and click "Check for update" in iTunes to get the latest version. Once updated, test again.

Use Safari instead of the Google Maps application. Navigate to maps.google.com. tap the icon pictured below, then tap Classic.

I opened Safari as you said, typed google maps.com in the address bar and it opened up a U S Map but I don't see the icon you are talking about anywhere on the page.  Have you tried this using an iPad?

Yes. If you navigate to maps.google.com you should see the following view. If not, just try tapping the screen once and the icons should appear.

This was great for the first time I tried it.  I hit classic and it gave me the same options I have on my laptop however I went back to try it again and now when I hit classic I get the following on the left;
Get Directions    My Maps
Set default location
Put your business on Google Maps

I have tried doing this several times but every time I click on Classic I get the same thing.  So what am I doing wrong?

This works great just as you said but the application crashes every time I try to use it.  It crashes at the point where I am selecting the variables. Could you please try it and see if it crashes for you.
Thanks

You must search for a location to get the "Search nearby" option.

I did experience a similar crash when selecting variables. Which iOS version are you running?

I went to About and there is a listing there for Version and it reads 3.2.2 (7B500).  Is that what you are asking?
