Logging LDAP queries to Windows 2008 server?

I am talking LDAP to a Windows 2008 AD-server to authenticate users to an external system. Are successful or failed LDAP authentications logged somewhere in Windows? When I troubleshoot LDAP-issues I would like to see on the server how the authentication attempts looks like and where/why they fail.
