Can't connect new Windows 7 laptop wirelessly to existing NetGear network
Also, I have the PassPhrase, and I went on the Internet to translate that into a hex key, but those hex keys don't work. I wonder if it has something to do with Windows 7 (you think???).
I have 2 Windows Vista laptops which connect just fine to the network. But this new laptop won't.
Anyway, here are the technical details of the current setup, which I got from the NetGear SmartWizard:
- NetGear Wireless-N 300 Router model WNR2000v2
- Channel: Auto
- Mode: Up to 145 Mbps
- Security Options: WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]
- passphrase is entered
Router Status
Hardware Version WNR2000v2
Firmware Version V1.0.0.34_29.0.45NA
GUI Language Version V1.0.0.34_0.5.0.0

IP Address xx.xxx.xx.xx

IP Subnet Mask 255.255.xxx.x

I have, of course, lost the 10-digit Hex key. But I went to http://www.powerdog.com/wepkey.cgi and generated 4 10-digit keys, as well as a 26-digit key. I tried the first 2 10-digit keys, as well as the 26-digit key, in both lower-case and upper-case, but without success.
I tried power cycling the router, and then rebooting the laptop, and then I tried one of the 10-digit WEP keys again, but that didn't work.

Hi, I am keeping this question open, as it is still not resolved. However, I have opened another question, which states the problem better:
https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/26652584/Need-to-find-the-10-digit-hex-key-for-a-wireless-network-I-have-the-PassPhrase.html
Please feel free to go to that new question with your suggestions. I'll keep this question open for a while, until I get an acceptable answer on that other question.
Thanks for your comments, trex1976 and RootsMan. I never did reset the router, but I think the answer to the new question is what I really want.

Thanks to the 2 experts who responded to this question, trex1976 and RootsMan. And special thanks to trex1976, who responded on Thanksgiving Day!
Unfortunately, I don't know for sure which solution, if any, would have actually worked, due to the "hands off, Dad" attitude of my daughter. I tried the other question (https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/26652584/Need-to-find-the-10-digit-hex-key-for-a-wireless-network-I-have-the-PassPhrase.html
), and got some excellent responses there as well, but I just can't be sure which solution would have worked.
Anyway, I'm granting points based on timeliness and thoroughness. Thanks, experts!

I don't have an option for:
WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK
The only option I have is:
WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]
As much as I hate to do it, it looks like I'll have to reset the router and enter in a new key, as you suggested. Painful, but perhaps it is the only way. I'll get back to you with the results. Thanks.
