Could someone please clarify what options (if any) there are to sync mail / cal / contacts to a Blackberry from Exchange 2007 without using a Blackberry server ?

@Raghuv BIS will only sync emails the OP asked for Contacts and Calendar these wont' work with BIS

If you have a small user pool you can use Blackberry Enterprise Server Express.  It's free and I believe you can put up to 30 people on it.

Just for info BES express can support up to 500 users
