Smart card login to company laptops in a SBS 2008 domain

Hello all Experts,
i have a problem, i might be noob in this field but i managed to install an sbs2008 and get it functional
the system is working pretty fine and no problems.
we have a couple of laptops that will be used on road, and i was asked to secure the logon of these laptops through a smart card.
the laptops are dell with a builtin smartcard reader
i have to secure both the login to the domain and the login to the laptop itself through a smrt card.
i just dont know how to oull that. so i will appriciate some step by step guide to guide me through this process.

i was actually looking for a step by step guide on how to do it from ground zero, what are the needed windows roles, how to configure the entire certification story, im still looking for this information for quite along time now, i hope there is a way of finding out how exaclty
