Citrix XenApp vs ... ?

Hi Guys

We were looking at cost effective ways to host a terminal server in the cloud (we are in the UK) , Amazon looks like the best bet at the moment however we are now considering Citrix XenApp, theres only one LOB application that relies on a SQL DB that needs to be delivered to the users.

I've not used Citrix or other similar solutions so was hoping to get opinions on the best value solution to go for, I think VMware do similar software.

Thanks!

Both VDI and Thin Client solutions available to rival Citrix solutions.
also if you download the software, you can trial for 30 days, with unlimited copnnections (licenses.), dont be tempeted to register it too early, because then it reverts to the free three connection license limit.

I can also recommend a Datacentre/Cloud Partner as well!

I'm now questioning whether we even need Citrix, going to test normal TS 2008 as that may do the job.
Have a look at the 2X products, very quick to install (5mins) and FREE 3 connection limit, if registered, 30 day trial license, and gives you some of the management that Citrix would give you.

Published Applications, RDP or 2X Client. (2X client coming soon for the iPAD). Secure SSL. Web Portal.
As you are in the UK I would definitely have a look at 2X
We're going to use terminal services 2008 without any addons.
