problem conncting to local server in ESET Remote Administrator Console after i changing the server name
hi
i having a problem conncting to local server in ESET Remote Administrator Console after i changing the server name, in connection box i type the new server name but it saying connection failed.
when i changing the server name to the old one it's manage to connect to the old server name.
please assist how do i resove that.

tried to use the server name but still not good, dns name resolution is OK.
more ideas?

check the ERAS service on the server, and restart it

You are adding the port number after the server name, right?
Just making sure... on mine it's server:2223.

If you go to Tools - Configuration Editor, you have a section ERA Server and then SETUP - GENERAL.
There you'll find a Server Name value. It overrides the computer name.

Hi yes i went exaclly there into the configuration editot and entered the new server name pressed save restarted service but still couldnt connent, also by ip
That one is usually left blank. That way, the server uses the computer name.
will you try and sed us a snapshot of the error showing the configuration on the consol

what Eset version do you have
If you do a nslookup newservername do you get the right IP in the answer?
