Acer Travel 4100 Display driver

Hi I Have a acer travel mate 4100 with a new HD
no recouver disk
Tried downloading the drivers from ACER
all worked fine XP Home,  except the display driver
Radeon X700 (wont install no hardware found)
Tried ringing acer (no help) tried with all MS updates & without
Eversthome detects  as being Radeon X700
Even tried the find diver sites (they just pickup the vga driver)

but it may be you have bad video card
what was the reason for the new install?

you can check if the video is ok if you run from a live cd  : ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/dist/knoppix/KNOPPIX_V5.0.1CD-2006-06-01-EN.iso
