Setup.exe has stopped working
When trying to install MS Office 2007 on a vista machine I get the above message even when running as administrator
Try to add setup.exe to an exception list of DEP (Data Execution Prevention) - worked out for me
Just follow these steps:
Click Start -> right click on Computer -> Properties
On the left pane - Click the last option called "Advanced settings..."
Click Properties in Performance section
Click on "Data Execution Prevention" tab
Select the second option and add your setup.exe as an exception
Restart setup.exe

Tried that, same problem
Before running setup.exe, check to make sure there isnt a Setup.exe or MSIInst.exe running already. Use the task manager (by clicking Ctrl + Shit + Esc at the same time) and check the processes tab.
If that doesn't work, look in your install directory where Setup.exe is found, and look for any setup files that end in .msi Maybe one that says PRO11.MSI
Let me know if you have that.
Last idea, run the install.exe as administrator (Right click on setup.exe and choose run as, then choose administrator)
