I have 2 switches in a single fabric to be replaced by a single director

An interview question asked to me .

If i have two brocade switches in a single fabric brocade 3900, brocade 7500 and have FOS 6.3.
How do i replace the switches with the director 48000 which runs the same  FOS6.3.All this is happening in a single fabric .
Please elaborate with commands and steps required

As covered in your other question:

Do this:

Common steps:
Create an LSAN on the 48000. Assign ports to the LSAN. Set the Domain ID of the LSANs so that it is lower than the domain IDs in the switch and 7500.

then either:
a)  Connect the 3900 and 7500 to the 48000. merge the fabrics. Move the cables. Done.

b) Dump the configs of the 300 and 7500 to text files. Use these text files to configure the LSANs on the 48000. YOu can even use an Excel spreadsheet to make life easy. Steps you need are:
alicreate
zonecreate
cfgcreate
cfgadd
cfgsave
cfgenable

Then move the ables from the 3900 to the 48000. Done.

You cannot restore the config files from the 4900 or 7500 to the 48000. It won't work.

You need to look at what sort of fabric extension services the 7500 is providing and modify the 48000 config as needed. You may need additional hardware in the 48000 or you may need to re-deploy the 7500. The 7500 is not a switch. It provides FCIP for fabric extension or to enable replication over a WAN.
