Hello,

anybody know of a good (preferably free) application for processing Windows Event Viewer data?
Something that provides the ability to filter by string and generate reports would be great.

Thanks!

hello alpha-lemming
windows event viewer does have filtering and it is already in the system.
i havent worked with anything else (never needed) and i would suggest to use this one.
Some of the functions found in windows event viewer system can be found here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427

as far as I can see, the builtin log viewer does not allow filtering by text in in the log message, nor does it allow report generation as in: "For this period of time application X reported error Y N times"..
