Configure a record for autodiscover (in some cases, this is not necessary).
Configure your send/receive connectors properly and external URL access under Server Configuration-> Client Access
After you've done this, on the Exchange server, use test-outlookwebservices in Exchange PowerShell to verify connection validity to AS and to trouble shoot.
You also need to modify the authentication methods in AS VDIR in IIS to anonymous, basic and windows

How to have autodiscover record in external dns?

Well, you have to have access to your domain host, just add the record once you've gained access. Depending on your infrastructure, you can add a cname externally and A record internally.
