Internet / Cable TV Venture

Hi Experts

I am looking for a business venture that has something to do with Internet or Cable / DSTV. I am in South Africa and I want to come up with an idea that I could sell in SA

I am sure that you guys overseas have brilliant ideas of what really makes money there and I want to attempt it here.

I thought of providing home Internet to residential complexes but it became costly.
I thought of getting an ISP overseas but I am not sure if this is allowed and if its cheaper
I thought of cable tv instead of our limited dstv in SA but I am not sure if this can be done
Please advise.

Hi Aburr, regarding Internet for residential areas, i have an isp already and I will install an 8mbps line. However, my problem is there is so much technology out there and every company I ask provides a different solution which is costly.
I know what I want as my goal but I have no idea what the best route to take. I canta fford to try something and then realise it never work as this costs money. I dont mind spending once off for the CORRECT equipment that will have a GOOD wireless strength in my residential complex that had 100 houses close to each other. My problem is finding this correct equipment. Alot of companies told me what to try but this costs money and each company gives a different solution so I am not sure which one is the right one

Regarding cable instead of dstv, what would this cost be to start it, once I pay this cost is it monthly or once off

I do not know what your countries regulations are. Here one has to get city permission. You have to purchase right of way. You have to install cable. You have upkeep costs. The amount depends on the size of the operation. If you cannot afford wifi equip, you cannot afford cable start up.
I do not know what wifi equipment is available to you so I cannot advise on equipment types.
