common issues could be, anything as far as, signal quality, which could be caused by interference of wireless house phones. that's probably the most common issues for 2.4GHz routers. other appliances operate at this freq as well.

The other issue with these are throughput.  The device may have a 100mb WAN port but the unit cannot process anywhere near that speed.  The nice thing about the WRT54 series is most of them can be reflashed.  This creates a better OS with less overhead for faster packet switching/routing.  Also as with any consumer device you may have random issues where you have to reboot the device by unplugging it and plugging it back in.  FOTC is correct anything 2.4 can have a lot of interference.
