setup mail server on own linux


For our one site www.imedicusinc.com  would like to setup mail functionality to send mails for register users with accounts like abc@imedicusinc.com

Insted of using another mail server provider would like to use the same server where site is deployed as mail server.

For same I have installed the all the packages. now am able to send the mails but facing below problem
mail from abc@imedicusinc.com to xyz@imedicusinc.com  working
mail from abc@imedicusinc.com to xyz@gmail.com working
mail from abc@gmail.com to xyz@imedicusinc.com not working(mail get bounce with Host not found 550 error

its looks to be reverse DNS isssue. Can you please help me for how to setup MX record when we are using the same server as mail server.

My Server:  imedicusinc.com

MX record :
0  imedicusinc.com  ip=
2  ec2-174-129-219-132.compute-1.amazonaws.com  ip=
10  sitemail2.everyone.net  ip=

Mailserver connection test
Connect to mailserver mail.imedicusinc.com   FAILED (could be greylisting)
Connect to mailserver ec2-174-129-219-132.compute-1.amazonaws.com   FAILED (could be greylisting)
Connect to mailserver sitemail2.everyone.net   FAILED (could be greylisting)
550 Recipient Rejected: Domain not hosted here

can u check if your mailserver is correctly associated with the MX record and able to telnet ? most likely issue is with MX settings .

you may check it by    nslookup
> type your server name

please contact your ISP why it is getting timeouted as above.

People Have suggested me to check the MX record adn ISP..but I have alredy did this. also I have checked the the my servers firewall.

but as pper disscussed with amazon its the cloud computing and thats why I need to configure the EC2 instance group security settings and need to fill the email limitation form to remove mail limitation on my mail server. I have did these thing and issue gets resolved.

you did not mentioned that you are using cloud computing in initial description . you should have describe the environment and issue with clarity
as per your request it show that you own your own infrastructure. and if a person is installing the messaging in his own environment it is understood that he has opened all the port from his side then only left the ISP to check.
above suggestions should be re considered

I have resolved the issue by communicating with Amazon experts team as I am using there server.
