Version 12.5 won't recognize the newer versions of Exchange, so you can't back them up direct. So that could be the solution right there... If you plan on moving forward with a new version of Exchange, you are going to need a new version of Symantec backup anyway.

Unfortunately, we are in a holding pattern for Exchange and will remain on v.2003 until we are FORCED to move to Notes sometime down the road (don't get me started).<br />

Are you asking if it can performing a granular restore from tape? Yes and no... It would appear it is restoring an individual mailbox, but if you are restoring from tape, the program first has to pull more than just that database from tape, get it back on the disk and then find your information. So if you have no D2D, the answer would be no.<br />

Exchange is the server side of a collaborative application product that is part of the Microsoft Server infrastructure. Exchange's major features include email, calendaring, contacts and tasks, support for mobile and web-based access to information, and support for data storage.

Exchange
