You could spoof it, but that would be illegal and unethical.
ASKER
i want something legal no spoofing of course :)
You need to be a Cisco employee to legally have a @cisco.com email address.
Sorry but no go.
Domain names (everything behind the @) are registered and belong to the people/companies who registered them.
That means that everything before the @ belongs to them. There is no way that me@cisco.com belongs to one company and you@cisco.com belongs to another.
As a matter of fact, I would not be amused if someone would try to use one of the addresses on my domain. And I am far from being Cisco ;)

i wish if someone have the ability to add me and give me the chance to have a @cisco.com
So why not contact cisco, explain it to them and ask if they can set up an address (which then could be forwarded to another email for example).
ASKER
Cisco has launched email service, and i'm sure someone here in EE has the ability to help with 1 email
Cisco is going to shoot down any requests for an email address at their domain if you are not an employee.
This would be a liability nightmare.

@ erniebeek: Seriously? Are you able to type while you are laughing?
@david875 What is the address for sir?

If your talking about Cisco's hosted email service - this does not mean they are offering @cisco.com email addresses...
It means they are offering cloud email service for corporations that want to virtualize their email servers... They will host your email for you - but its still @yourdomain.com

Yeah, I know, sorry.

@ChaS3me: Good point. See now I feel bad for making the sarcastic comment. Too late in the day and I think the servers have sucked all the oxygen out of the air.
@ChaS3me
Sounds logical. I think we have some sort of misunderstanding here: cisco email vs cisco hosted email.

@wwakefield
Same. Been some time since I've seen some oxygen.
But the result remains the same: no @cisco.com addres, only cisco hosting @yourdomain.com

@wwakefield: can you get me a email@cisco.com Sir?
ASKER
@erniebeek: i thought that hosted emails are mail@cisco.com not another domain, what i want is @cisco.com
ASKER
@erniebeek: What's the point of hosting me@my-domain.com by Cisco if i can get an email based on my web hosting provider ????
There are many hosting companies. Take Yahoo for example. I can use wwakefield@yahoo.com if I want. Alternatively I can secure a domain name that I prefer such as ITTOYSTORE.COM and let Yahoo host my mail on their servers and my e-mail would be wwakefield@ITTOYSTORE.COM .
I could also use my own server and register my domain name with it and host it myself.
The advantage of Cisco or Yahoo or whomever is that they do all the work on the mail servers. You know, spam filter, AV Checking, web access etc. Maybe not a big deal for a small or single person company, but big deal for larger companies accessing mail globally.
You never did say what the mail is for? Company? Nubmer of people? Web Access?

@erniebeek: Stepped all over your toes to answer that.

Corrent, not for personal use as someone already mentioned that.
However, here is something you may want to look at:
Go http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/ and look at the options.
If you come up with a Domain you want and it is not used, they can help you register it and they can also host it for you (Both Web and Mail). Note once you register the domain, it is yours until it expires..

There are many sites that help you with:
1. Registering a domain name
2. Hosting your e-mail with @domainname.com
3. Hosting your web page using your domain name
Or like was previously stated, you could stand a server up at home and do it on that.... I think Yahoo or similar is a good choice for the smaller solutions.
Global access via web is easy on yahoo.

Perhaps................
Try the next best thing. Find a domain name which has cisco in it and isn't registered yet. If you found one you like register it for yourself. For example: iamcisco.com, ciscokid.com ciscos.com.
Just an idea, still want to try and help you out.

Maybe someone here knows a cisco hiring director that can get you a job at Cisco if your true goal is to attain this type of email address.
