i recently installed 4 identical computers that are running Windows 7 Professional (64 bit). The computers are in the same workgroup. All but one of the computers can access the shared printer via a standard user account.
When I try to get to the 'shared' printer over the network, I'm asked for username and password. The user accounts (standard and admin) are indentical on all four systems. However, I get a 'credential failure' message. Have also checked to make sure that password sharing is NOT selected on the host computer. Not of the other computers ask for a password when I linked to the shared printer. If I use an admin account on the suspect computer, I'm able to connect to the printer and use it without any problem.
I had a similar issue with Win XP Pro but resolved it once I realized password sharing was enabled on the host computer.
What am I missing here?
