vmware templates and cloning
can someone explain to me the difference between creating a template of a VM then create a new VM from the template and directly cloning a VM.

ASKER
if you notice when you create a template from a VM.
it gives you 2 option :
-Deploy a VM from this template
-Convert to VM
a bit of confusion there.

I guess this is Vmotion.
Template :Can't be customized. Correct?
Clone: Can be customized (I am not sure about Vista if can be customized)

in either case, creating a template or cloning, does it do sysprep for the new machine, since we don't want to have the same GUID or same IP address as the source machine?
