I have a Draytek 2020, I have a BT connection and a Virgin connection, what's the best way to get the most out of my two connections?

See title.

Do you have a firewall or proxy server?  We work with Sonicwall firewalls and even the most basic ones can do load-balancing across connections.  It allows you to specify different algorithms like dividing bandwidth 50/50 or 70/30 or whatever or using one main connection and spilling over to the other and so on.  It's a very good device for security, anti-spam, VPNs etc., so worth the money.

I know there are commercial proxy servers than can do similar things but I personally haven't done that before.

Is there anywhere I could get documentation about Sonicwall firewalls?

There are datasheets etc. on that page as well for more info but the best is probably to go here (http://www.sonicwall.com/uk/4034.html) and check the Network Security Solutions box and fill in the form or call 0845 160 0234 to speak to sales so they can give you details.
I started with Experts Exchange in 2004 and it's been a mainstay of my professional computing life since. It helped me launch a career as a programmer / Oracle data analyst

is that the right Draytek model number ? Google finds 3 hits 2 of them here.

I suspect you mean the 2820
This supports load balancing. For this to work
untick all options in
WAN - Load balancing

then in
WAN - General setup
have all wan connections always on.
Tis will do an auto load balance
Yo could be more specific with some services eg set all traffic with dest port 80 or 443 (web broswing) to wan 1 and everything else (eg downloads) to wan2
If you want to do something like this let me know.

Yes this sounds good, how do you do this? I meant a 2820 sorry!!!
